What is Domiciliary Care?
Domiciliary care allows you to receive the support you need in the comfort of your own home. It can be a great care option if you want to keep your independence and remain in the home you love, while still getting the extra assistance you need with your daily living and activities.
Domiciliary carers can help you with several services from personal care such as bathing, dressing and toileting, to helping with housework, gardening or cooking, or even just providing companionship. Our carers can also be there to help you continue your hobbies, and accompany you out into the community, so you can venture out with confidence.
Choosing domiciliary care allows you to stay in control of your routine, while receiving services tailored to your needs to enhance your overall quality of life.

Questions
-
What is Domiciliary care?
Domiciliary care is support you receive in your own home; support staff provide care and support based on your needs and agreed services. A Domiciliary Support worker can provide help with personal care such as helping you wash and dress, help with nutrition and basic cleaning around the house. A support worker can also help with pet care, gardening, mobility, social activities and help with getting to appointments and even help with holidays – the support package is designed to suit your individual needs and budget.
-
How much does Domiciliary Care costs?
The costs depend on the type of service you require; however, you may be eligible for financial help towards the cost from the government, please ask for details.
-
Will I have the same support worker every day?
We aim to provide you with a small team of regular support workers. This team will repeat, week in week out, so that you get to know one another and relationships can be built. Our aim is for you to look forward to our visits.
-
Will my Support Workers come at a specific time?
Yes. We will provide you with visit times in advance and will discuss suitable times with you before the service start. If, for some unavoidable reason, they are running late i.e. traffic, we will call you to let you know.
-
What happens if my regular Support Worker is sick or on holiday?
If your regular Support Worker is sick or on holiday, we will aim to supply an alternative support worker who has visited you before and already knows you. Before sending a new Support Worker, we will contact you to advise that someone new is visiting and to tell you a little about them.
-
Can you help me with my medication?
Yes, our Support Workers can follow your instructions or have more involvement by prompting or administering your medication.
-
Is Domiciliary Care regulated
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates domiciliary care agencies in England. To operate, agencies must register with the CQC and meet quality and safety standards. Our TLC is registered with CQC – our latest report can be found here https://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-842083566
